World's Most Clever Dad

Tonight, Ian announced: "Daddy, I think you've got the best sense of humor." And, very movingly, he wasn't exaggerating.

One of the events leading up to this determination was an extremely clever joke that I made up and told in the format of a wise old fable, until the punchline - which Ian greatly enjoyed:

Two animals, a lion and a cheetah, were having a race in the forest. The lion cheated-

Ian interrupted: "How did he cheat?"

Me: "Ummm... he took a short-cut..."

...The lion cheated and the cheetah said, "You cheated!" and the lion said, "I didn't cheat - you're the cheetah!" and the lion said, "You're lion!"

Ian's lucky to have such wit in the family, and to be able to appreciate it so much.
