Now, Daniel is interested in flags, in light of our recent laptop inquiries into national banners. In addition to our recent survey of the Greenland flag, I showed the boys that with three DOS windows that I keep on my computer - one with a blue background (liberte), one with a white background (egalite) and one with a red background (fraternite), I an open them up and line them up to approximate a French flag. It's a wacky application of that most mundane of technical items, the DOS window, but that's just me... Daniel was impressed that I could make a French flag out of them.

Tonight, he saw me on my computer and asked if we could look at flags:

"...Either the Greenland flag, the American flag or that flag with three different colors - the white blue and red one."
