Photogeneity
Daniel loves The Red, White and Blue.
This year, both boys had their pictures taken at school, and the pictures ended up on mugs. I had thought Amy intended them for me - I do love that kind of thing, as is well known - but it looks like the boys are using the mugs themselves. They don't entirely lack a sense of self-esteem...
But back to Daniel. His back-drop was the American flag. Of course, it was one of those things where you pick the background long after the original photo has been taken, and the Magic of Photoshop (or something similar) takes care of the rest.
Daniel was describing the photography process to me:
"And it [the picture] has the American flag, even though we didn't go next to the American flag."
About the physical arrangement: "We didn't have a avery high ladder."
About the angles from which the pictures were shot (turning to show different profiles, and finally facing front): "First that way, then that way, and now here I am facing neither-way."
But most importantly, Old Glory: "Don't you think that the United States of America flag is handsome?"
My guess would be that the Stars and Stripes are handsome rather than beautiful, because it would be beneath Daniel's masculine dignity to use such a girly-word in a positive way.
