Next Time We Go to Petco, We'll Say No to Rats

Daniel asked me whether mouse can be pets. I told him that they can, and in fact, so can rats, and some people who have them as pets say they make excellent pets.

Daniel was skeptical. I didn't understand why he found that hard to believe, but then suddenly I got it, when he asked, "Do they, like, guard your house?"

No.

"Can they?"

Daniel has a point. If you expect your pet to serve as a home security system, you're much better off with Rover than with Nibbles.
