Cultural Relativity

One of the Christmas cards we got in the mail, of the customized photos-of-our-children variety, showed a brother and sister - the girl about seven and the boy about five - in what looked like a wedding dress and a tuxedo, respectively. They looked quite dapper. The girl even had a dreamy, Midsummer-Night's-Dream-quality, wispy wreath-like crown in their hair. I just presumed that this picture was taken just before, or after, their uncle's recent wedding, but Daniel had other ideas:
