The Best Gift of All

The other day, in the car, Ian asked me why we give presents on Christmas, and then provided his own answer:

"To remind you that Jesus was one of our gifts from God."

This struck me as an excellent way of thinking about the passage from the Gospel of Saint John: "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only-begotten Son..."

As usual, Ian is way ahead of me on theology.
