Vital Safety Measures in the Puppet Workshop
Daniel received a nice sock-puppet kit from his grandmother, for his birthday. This made him especially happy, because when we attended a fair about a month ago, Ian, after much lobbying, went home with a sock-puppet kit, but Daniel didn't get one.
However, in short order, Ian was making the puppets. For Daniel and Madeleine, not just for himself. In fact, Ian made Pokemon sock-puppets, instead of the "conventional" zoological line-up we normally associate with puppetry. But this evening, Daniel was sitting next to Ian on the floor, in their de facto puppet workshop, with a pair of scissors in his hands and sunglasses on.
I rose to the occasion: "Nice sunglasses, Daniel."
But it turned out that these were protective gear, not some kind of superficial fashion statement:
"No, I'm wearing them so I don't cut my eyes."
