Pokemon Infestation

Ian's Russian-Math teacher (yes, hyphenated: the subject is Russian Math; the teacher is actually Bulgarian) mentioned as I went to pick him up last night that he's trying to do everything at one. That sounds pretty ambitious on the surface, until you find out that one of the things he's trying to do - while also doing Russian Math, he's enjoying a broad panoply of Pokemon cards on or in his desk.

We had a little conversation about this in the car, and as usual, Attorney McDershowitz was way ahead of me.

I asked him: "Can't you keep them in your binder?"

His binder, it turns out, is what he works out of in class.

I tried one or two other candidates, such as keeping them in the container in which he maintains them. Somehow, there was a confident rebuff for each proposal.

Finally, I asked, "Can't you just keep them where you normally keep them?"

This defense was the best of all:

"And I normally keep them right next to me."

I'm sure that's true.
