Casa Pokemon

Because today is Veteran's Day, the children have the day off. All children. Everywhere, it seems. But it wasn't a work-holiday, for me, so I took it as a vacation day, and I'm discovering that in our house, Veteran's Day is all about Pokemon.

As I was lying in bed, Ian began festooning the area with Pokemon. Then he came in, and started reading to me from his current Pokemon volume, stopping from time to time to show me the Pokemon cards corresponding to the characters being discussed in the text. But then Daniel came upstairs, and they decided to go downstairs and have a Pokemon battle. But Ian, always the gentleman, and very concerned for my Pokemon development, went to the trouble to keep me in the loop:

"Daddy, we're having a Pokemon battle downstairs, if you want to see some action before I finish reading the story."
