Car and Driver... And Five-Year-Old Passenger
A few weeks ago, when my car was in the shop, I ended up with a vastly inferior rental for a day, and Daniel got to ride to school in it one morning. I'm not exactly gloating about my actual car - it's a Corolla, after all - but the rental was a Suzuki Impreza, a model that I think they don't even make any more, understandably (I wasn't "imprezzed."). Nothing like the infamous but celebrated Sidekick - this is a tiny car, basically their equivalent of a Ford Focus, and it felt like a black, plastic shell inside a small, white hulk. The Corolla felt like a luxury sedan of the next century, by contrast.
But not everybody felt that way.
A few days later, Daniel declared: "Daddy, I'm kind of sad that you got your car back, because that car that you borrowed was pretty cool."
