Becoming Alligator

Daniel seemed to have tears in his eyes this afternoon, but I didn't see any reason why he would be crying, so I asked him if he were crying or sad.

He paused and said, "I think I'm doing alligator tears," and held his head in a solemn position, gazing into the faraway world of such things, briefly embracing the endeavor very consciously.
