Evolving Household Child-Bouncing Rhythms

The children have a ritual with me, which started with me throwing some baby - Ian or Daniel - in the air and yelling, in rhythmic measure "Throw the baby in the air! Throw the baby in the air! Throw the baby in the air."

As Daniel reached preschool, he had me yelling "Throw the preschooler in the air...!" There has also been, for Ian last year, "Throw the kindergartener in the air."

This morning, in that tradition, Madeleine asked me to throw her and her stuffed Rapunzel doll (a.k.a. Bapunzel) in the air, which I did: ""Throw Madeleine and Punzel in the air!"

Daniel didn't want to be left out, and he didn't want to neglect his new enthusiasm: Pirates of the Caribbean (not my fault!), and especially the Pirates of the Caribbean Lego set that has preoccupied his attention in recent days. So he asked me to intone the following, as I threw him into the air, and I complied:

"Throw Daniel-Jack Sparrow in the Air!"
