Water Park of Mystery
Yesterday, we were at an indoor water park, with a few extremely long tube-slides, two out of which were almost completely dark, such that when you slid through them, you moved really fast without any orientation to the space around you. Ian and I were going up the staircase together, and sliding down in parallel tubes. He really enjoyed waiting for me at the bottom - or having me wait for him at the bottom, and then comparing notes on what each tube was like as we made our way up the stairs for the next turn. I described the dark body-slide experience as moving swiftly through space without any sense as to where you were going - up vs. down, etc. - and he concurred, in his own very magical, seven-year-old way: "It fills me with mystery!"
At a later point, in the splash park below, Daniel commented, "Daddy I feel like the whole world is wet!"
