Rudimentary Ship Architecture
Daniel showed me an impressive "ship" he made from Legos, with an almost uniform, African-like color pattern of red, black, green, white and orange. There were to broad protrusions from the body of the ship. The tall, vertical one I correctly presumed to be the sail. But there was a long one as well, sticking out from the stern, and I asked him what it was:
"Oh - this is a plank. And this is the step to the plank. This is a pirate ship. Pirate ships have planks. But no other kinds has planks - well sometimes good guys' ships have planks..."
