Ian is quite pleased with the very sensible contraption I bought him, after some protracted begging, at the science center gift shop this afternoon. It's a volcano in a clear plastic egg, and when you add water, it froths up like Fanta Orange Soda and gradually transforms into a dinosaur. He likes it so much, he offered some insight to Daniel for the next occasion, which, it happens, is months away:

"Daniel, you might have some money, and if you ever want to get me one on my birthday, it's four dollars."
