A glass of water fell at the dining room table at lunch, irrigating everything in its path, and it happened to coincide with a bout of teasing from Daniel's end of the table toward Madeleine. I insisted on knowing what happened, and Daniel said, "Madeleine pushed it." Ian then went on to explain that this event came at the end of a series beginning with "Daniel was taunting Madeleine, and..." Daniel was unhappy about Ian's enhancement of the account, and Ian defended himself as follows:

"I wanted to give it some more detail. 'Madeleine pushed it' doesn't really have any detail - it has about 1% detail. 'It fell' has 0% detail. [Laughing.] "
