Purposeful Play

All three children are playing Hide And Seek, at the moment, after a hardy game of Tag involving both children and Webkinz (highly commercialized but cute plush stuffed animals). As they were playing tag, Daniel announced something like, "We're playing tag with our Webkinz and with our selves."

But I just figured out that Madeleine must be "it" at Hide and Seek, as Ian walked her through the protocol. I heard him in the other room, counting from 1 to 10 slowly and meticulously with Madeleine, who was quite eagerly keeping up with him. Then he gave her some instructions: to do that twice, and then say, "Ready or not here I am," and finally to come look for him and Daniel.
