Protection from the Plumbing Crones

I was home with all three children this evening, while Amy was out, and Daniel very intensely requested that I accompany him to the bathroom. His desire for company in the bathroom is unusual for the lad, outside of occasional parental utilitarian task which we won't discuss, but tonight he was quite dramatic in his insistence. Finally, he made it clear why he needed accompaniment to this peripheral realm of the house this evening:

"I'm kind of scared because I might think of witches. Definitely not goblins [rendered as "gobbelins"], because they're not real, but if they were real, they might not be as scary as witches."
