Earth Day Present

We took a late-afternoon hike through the woods of the Robert Frost farm, and beyond, and at one point, when we were settled down, waiting for one of our crazy dogs to catch up, Daniel found a somewhat filthy plastic piece of packaging on the ground, carefully picked it up, handed it to me, and said:

"Daddy, it's Earth Day, and you're supposed to clean up the Earth at school, so throw this away."
