The Unbearable Pointiness of Influenza
This morning, I mentioned that both Ian and Daniel had the flu, and Daniel, it turns out, wasn't familiar with the term. He asked me whether he had a bug, and I told him that a bug and the flu were two words for the same thing. He told me he prefers "the flu". I do too, but not for his rather poetic reasons: he added "That [the flu] makes me think of pointy little things like kites, cigars..."
