Sad Parenting

Daniel: [referring to his gluten intolerance] Daddy, when will we be able to eat burgers with the bun again?

Me: I don't know. Soon, I hope.

Daniel: Why? Because you don't want us to be sad?

Me: Yes.

Daniel: Well I'm already sad myself.

Me: Why?

Daniel: Because Mommy won't let me sleep with her... Daddy, can I ask Mommy to let sleep with her.

Me: No.

Daniel (bursting into crocodile tear): I can tell you want me to be sad. (x3)
