Bedtime Shovels for Darth

Last night, Daniel was recalcitrant about going to bed, sitting on the floor of his bedroom, playing with his "Dark Vader" Lego figure. A couple of times, I told him to go to bed, and it seemed that I was being ignored, so I got more unhappy about it. Then Daniel explained the one remaining task before he would be ready to go to bed:
"Daddy, there's one more shovel I have to put on."

With that, he lovingly set a plastic shovel, from the Lego set, into Lego-Darth-Vader's other hand. Darth Vader already had a shovel in his right hand, but he needed one in his left.

Finally, Darth Vader was ready, shovels in hand, to do his good work for the Empire, and Daniel climbed into bed.
