Identifying Pajamas - Rule of Thumb

I was looking through a basket of (clean) laundry to find Daniel a pair of pajamas to change into, and he offered some insight to clear up any confusion I might have had as to which clothes were pajamas and which were, say, jeans, socks, jerseys, etc.

"Daddy, if stuff match each other, that means they're pajamas."

So in other words, if the tops and bottoms both have Scooby Doo, or Buzz Lightyear, or Lightning McQueen, then they're pajamas; if there's no such thematic consistency between tops and bottoms, they're probably ordinary day-wear.
