Select Tree Ingestion

Apparently Daniel prefers the stalk of the broccoli to the flower. After supper, he had asked for a banana anda peanut-butter and jelly sandwich, but the broccoli, which wasn't ready at supper time, remained to be eaten, so I gave him a small bouquet of broccoli to eat as a pre-requisite to the snack of choice.

Dutifully complying, he stopped and approached me with the bouquet in hand, and asked, pointing respectively at the broccoli flower and stalk:

"Daddy, can you take that tree-stuff off so I can just eat that part of the tree?"
