Adventures in Eye-Closure

Daddy, it looks orange-y when I close my eyes in the light, but it looks dark and beautiful when I close my eyes in the dark.

[He folds his whole face into a squinty, contorted, closed-eyes posture to demonstrate, then asks me if he can go to a room with a mirror, so he can see what it looks like when he closes one eye.]
