In Search of an Explanation for Hair

Ian and Daniel were musing about the timeless question of why we are endowed with a thing called "hair":

Ian proposed, " I think God thought, so people don't laugh at you because you have no hair."

But Daniel thought of something that never would have occurred to me:

"I thought, so fire doesn't burn your head."
