The Game Continues, With a Twist...

Ian gave Mommy the big update this evening: "Mommy, today it went the opposite way it usually goes; today the girls were chasing the boys."

Ian gave me pretty-much the same report about "The Game" [something like "The Great Game"]. Just like last year in Kindergarten, this year in First Grade, he is deeply engrossed in the wild, epic competition of girls-vs-boys in the recess yard. Last year, it was reportedly the boys chasing the girls, and Ian felt sorry for the girls, so he took their side. [Both a sign of nobility and a possible harbinger of 12 very painful years of schooling.]

When he told me that it was the girls chasing the boys this year, I told him that's pretty much the way it always is in school - girls chasing boys in the recess yard. But he corrected me: it's usually the boys chasing the girls.
