The Things I'm Supposed To Do

I'm trying to work from home today, because I have to take Ian (and myself) to the doctor at 1:00. But Ian, like others, manages to find tasks for me, and about 15 minute ago, he told me that he and Daniel need me to get some (toy) cars from the pod (storage pod) for them.

I never made any such commitment, but a few minutes ago, I heard him bellow from across the house, a couple of times:

"Daddy, you're supposed to be getting cars from the pod for us!"

Some time later, Daniel came into the office in his Superman costume. I heard him telling Ian, as he was on his way, "Supermans don't find cars. "

When he came in, he said, "Daddy why don't you get the pod so I can have the police car?"

I asked him, "Did you say 'Supermans don't find cars?'"

Daniel gave it a bit of context: "Supermans don't find cars, but they fight bad guys."

I'm glad we have our division of labor worked out...
