The Cinema, and Keeping The Record Straight

Not all of us have tasted of the sweet fruits of Hollywood in its conventional temple, the great American cinema. More specifically, Daniel and Madeleine have never set foot in a movie theater, partly because they're four and 21 months, respectively, and partly because Hollywood has basically never, in my gentle opinion, cranked out anything worthy of the $13.50 (or whatever) that the modern Cineplex tries to squeeze out of potential customers.

But Ian and Amy had a movie date about a year ago, and was entirely enchanted by it, and he hasn't stopped talking about it since. He was particularly impressed with (something like) the fact that "they even have pictures that show you what movies they have."

The other day, we were talking about the prospect of going to a movie, and the following dialog ensued:

Daniel: I haven't been to a movie on a long time.

Ian: You never went to the movie theater.
