The Flush that Refreshes

Ian is extremely un-fond of the newfangled sensor-driven flush toilets of our young century. He really puts a lot of thought into avoiding them; he will sometimes visit multiple stalls in the hopes of finding a primitive, manual-flush commode like those of my own childhood in the 20th century. And of course, they're not really designed for the young, impulsive consumer; I suspect his idiorhythmic motions and unusual size tend to set off the flush mechanism in a way that a slow-moving, more full-bodied adult might not. And when the flush kicks in, he practically runs away.

But recently we visited a public restroom where the sensor-driven flush was not nearly so oppressive. As we were leaving, Ian duly noted this toilet of distinction:

Ian: Now that's what I call 'good behaving'.

Me: What's that?

Ian: What the potty's doing, waiting until we get out.
