A Car in the Kennel
The boys were "dogs" in the "pet store" otherwise known as the closet off the dining room, and they had this conversation:
Ian: And Daniel, we're not going to play with the cars. We're using them as dog-toys, because we're dogs.
However, within a minute or so, they had the closet light turned off, so that they could admire the light that turns on inside the toy car question. At that point, Ian, the "stray"* had the following exchange with Daniel, the "golden retriever":
Ian: Okay, what's the golden retriever's favorite thing to do?
Daniel: The golden retriever's favorite thing to do is play with its car and have fun in the dark.
*"Stray" seems to be a breed. Ian is often distinguishing between strays, mutts, golden retrievers and various terriers, along the lines of, "I'm a stray - not a golden retriever."
