Spelling Test for the Preschooler

Ian showed me a small strip of (torn) paper with words written (by Ian) on individual underlined spaces, and a row of letter "grades" over the words, consisting largely of C's. It turned out to be a spelling test that Ian had administered to Daniel, where Ian would write a word like "TOY" and ask Daniel to identify it, and Daniel would blurt out something random.

In showing it to me, Ian announced, "This is where Daniel got C's and F's."
