Teeth as Weapons

Ian, Daniel and Madeleine are all watching the animated film "Up" at this moment on DVD, and there's a particularly unsavory scene, in which the protagonist, an elderly man, is in a physical fight with another older man, and the other one tells the protagonist, "Spit it out!", at which point, the hero spits out an entire mouthful of dentures at the bad-guy.

I showed appropriate shock-surprise-humor at that unexpected moment, and then Ian put it in cinematic perspective:

"Yeah, in some movies, people can spit out their teeth like that."

He then went on to tell me about two other movies in which people spit out their teeth - probably a young child losing his baby teeth in one, and probably another senior citizen in the other. I didn't go to the effort of explaining to him why some people can spit out their teeth... It all just depends, apparently, on what movie you're in.
