Out of the mouths of babes

This morning, Daniel told me he had set up a proper barricade system to prevent young Madeleine from getting to the stairs. I told him he's a very good brother. He said, "Madeleine says I'm bad."

I said, truthfully, "Madeleine said nothing of the sort."

At this point, he summed up her verbal domain pretty well:

"All she can say, because she's a baby, is 'dada'."
