Mutual Applause

Daniel "Greg" was in his classic yellow turtleneck, with the indispensible Wiggles logo, and polyester black pants, performing some of his greatest hits yesterday, and of course I duly applauded at the conclusion of each number. However, for perhaps the first time in my life, the performer turned around and applauded his audience, making me all the more happy to be a fan in the front row. He also explained the reciprocity of the gesture, as follows:

"Daddy, Greg was clapping for you, because you were clapping, so he was clapping for you."
