A Lychee By Any Other Name...

We were in Chinatown, yes, again, last night at a - you guessed it - Vietnamese restaurant (which Ian calls something like "Viennese"), and the waiter brought us a small tray of dum-dum lolipops and Chinese lychee candies. Ian was wondering what the fruit of the candy was, as displayed on the packages, and I told him they were lychees, and that lychees were common in China.

At that point, Ian articulated something more fundamental about that Eastern fruit:

"Whatever lychee is, lychee is yum."
