Dinner Music

You can sometimes tell Ian is happy with his food - especially if it's vermicelli and chicken in a classic Vietnamese "Pho" soup, because he hums as he eats. As his jaw works up and down, it makes soft little notes, without constituting any recognizable harmony. This happens particularly at restaurants. He was musical for a good five to ten minutes last night, and it was certainly the song of contentment.
