Bringing Hygiene to the Masses

Ian asked me out of the blue this evening, "Daddy, how do I explain it to the other kids?"

Me: Explain what?

It turns out that what requires "explaining" is the imperative of toilet-flushing after use. Ian is disturbed - even perturbed - that his colleagues in kindergarten neglect to flush the toilet at the end of their visit to the commode. He doesn't appreciate the extra work that this slothfulness creates for the next visitor.

I suggested that his teacher might be more effective in making this point than he would be...
