Reach out and Touch

On Christmas, there was a family at my Mum's house, with a delightful little four-year-old girl, with whom Ian got along famously, who happened to have some allergies of which we became aware.

As Ian was gearing up for dessert, he asked me, "Can you ask Grandma if there's nuts in the pie?"

I didn't know the context, and asked, "Why - you can't eat nuts?"

Ian explained, "No - it's that girl. She's allergic to nuts, and I want to touch her, but I can't if
I eat nuts."
