Devout Impulses

Daniel asked me to make him a cross out of K'Nex (as mentioned in other blogs, Tinker Toys for Generation Z), which of course I did. Immediately after that, he wanted me to kiss it, which, awkwardly, I also did, in spite of the material from which it was made. (It seems better to encourage piety, even if the gesture would look kooky to an outside observer.)

Then he held up the cross to Ian and tried to make it talk.

Ian, who is more savvy about these things, advised him, "Crosses don't talk, so that's not a cross."
