It always helps to say "please"

After I put Daniel to bed and he wants to get up and join Amy, wherever she is at the time - which happens almost every night - he often asks very politely, but with desperation in his voice, to be excused from bedtime:

"Please may I have Mommy??!!"

He knows that please usually, if not at that moment, gets him what he's asking for.
