Medical Diagnosis
Several months ago, Baby Daniel was diagnosed with hand-foot-and-mouth disease. In spite of the gruesome name, it's a pretty common and not-too-brutal illness affecting small children, and B.D. managed to escape most of the harsher manifestations of it (such as all kinds of nasty soars on the hands and feet).
But of course, we talked about it a lot, and Ian, who must have been concerned, decided that his brother wasn't the only one suffering. When he heard Amy telling someone, over the phone, that Daniel had foot-and-mouth, Ian said, "And I have Finger Nose."
Every few months, it seems, he reminds us of those dark days of malady - "Remember when Baby Daniel had foot-and-mouth and Ian had Finger Nose?"
(We haven't tried to figure out how Finger Nose is spread...)
